"La Cantina del Poggiaccio", a restaurant
with its own well-stocked wine bar, enlivened by piano music,
is located in the very heart of Borgo Il Poggiaccio, in a magical,
elegant mediaeval setting. During the summer, dinner is served
on the terrace by the swimming-pool, where soft candle-light
blends with music played on the piano or guitar. Guests are
offered typical Tuscan cuisine, rich in both traditional and
original flavours, not forgetting vegetarian dishes. The foods
and ingredients of the highest quality are used by the chef,
to prepare the tastiest dishes appropriate to each
season, starting with the restaurant's own rich selection of
appetizers. The pasta is "home-made" and includes
"pici senesi all'aglione" with slivers of pecorino
cheese, or "pappardelle al ragù di cinghiale"
(pasta with wild-boar sauce): entrées that are a delight
to the palate, to be followed by a superlative main, meat course.
Dinners with freshly-caught fish may be ordered in advance.
